Adare Wedding

This intimate black-tie Adare Wedding is easily one of our favourite weddings ever. Not because of the gorgeous Vivienne Westwood wedding dress, Dior shoes, the groom’s Hugo Boss Tuxedo, stunning flowers or the many gorgeous details you will see in the photos, but because of the people that were a part of it. When we were choosing the best moments of 2020 we included many photographs of this beautiful day.

Czara and Mike and their families are some of the sweetest and kindest people I ever had the pleasure to photograph. Like many couples Czara and Mike had imagined their wedding day happening very differently. With Covid, they had to adapt and make their dream wedding fit into the restrictions. And even after downsizing the guest list, changing venues and some other hiccups along the way, they managed to have a very meaningful celebration with their dearest people.

Wedding Ceremony

Their ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Abbey Church. It was raining when Czara arrived but some friends were waiting outside to get a glimpse of the bride’s arrival. They all cheered and clapped as she walked to the door. Other friends and family members that couldn’t be present were able to watch the ceremony over the internet as the church was broadcasting. The couple received so many messages after the service saying how beautiful it was!

It’s very hard to think Czara’s original wedding dress was not the one she wore to walk down the aisle. Her dress got stuck in London because of Covid and she was saved by her sister in law and bridesmaid who works as a fashion designer at Vivienne Westwood. Rachel had a wedding dress she bought during a sample sale and kept in her wardrobe. She sent it over to Czara who did a try on session over Face Time with her mom and we all agreed: it looked like it was made for her! It fit her perfectly and it didn’t need any alterations at all. She looked absolutely stunning. Rachel also looked gorgeous in the jumpsuit that was supposed to be Czara’s day after outfit! A great swap.

Adare Wedding Reception

After the ceremony the sun came out and we made our way to The Mustard Seed for the reception and dinner. John Edward Joyce, the host, was amazing. He helped Czara and Mike plan the wedding and really made everyone feel safe during these strange times. At The Mustard Seed, we took a few minutes to walk around the gardens and orchard to do some gorgeous couples portraits. This house is a must see if you are planning an intimate Adare wedding, they will make you feel so welcome and at home.

One of my favourite moments of their day were the speeches. It was very emotional and there was not a dry eye in the house, me included! Mike’s heartfelt speech mentioning one of Czara’s favourite quotes was so so beautiful: “I choose you. And I’ll choose you over and over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I’ll keep choosing you”.

Huge Thank You

To Czara’s mum Suzanne and dad Pat for being so incredibly welcoming to me at their family home. A big thanks also to all the suppliers, all details below, and specially to the very brave bride and groom who are both doctors working on the frontline during the pandemic!
