Dublin Registry Office Wedding

With all the restrictions still in place due to the pandemic, many couples decided to go ahead with their Dublin Registry Office Wedding and have a bigger celebration later in the year. This was the case for Jess & John whose wedding photos we are sharing on the blog today.

The couple was only allowed to invite a few people inside the registry office and because of that some of their family and friends had to wait outside to greet them – from a distance – after the ceremony. Thanks to technology (and Zoom) they were able to watch it all on the phone! While I was waiting was able to have a little sneak peak too.

Dublin Registry Office Ceremony

Ceremonies at the Registry Office in Dublin are quite short and usually last around 20 minutes. It can be a little longer depending on whether the couple decides to include any readings and personal vows. Couples are also allowed to have songs, that will be played by the registrar, to walk down the aisle and to exit the ceremony room. We have also photographed weddings, before covid, where couples had someone playing the guitar and singing. These are lovely personal touches that you can add to your Dublin Registry Office Wedding! You can read more about the formalities and everything else you need to know about getting married in Ireland here.

I didn’t get to see all of Jess & John’s ceremony but it looked like it was beautiful. They were radiant exiting the building and couldn’t have been smiling any bigger! We did some family photos after the ceremony in the small courtyard before heading to the canal for some photos of the bride and groom and their witnesses.

Couples Photos at the Canal Nearby

The Registry Office is located a short walk from the canal, where we did Jess & John’s photos. She looked stunning in her gold sequin Folkster Dress and black heels. Her beautiful yellow mimosa bouquet complimented her look and was the perfect match to John’s navy suit. They looked fab and we had so much fun together before they headed to their small celebration at home. I can’t wait to photograph their bigger party later this year!

Their photos are featured on One Fab Day and you can check it out here.
