Klara & Phil’s The Shelbourne Hotel Wedding with 18 of their family members and closest friends, was a day full of style and so much love. In the words of the staff in One Fab Day it was an ‘effortlessly chic city wedding‘ and we couldn’t agree more!
The couple got together in college, introduced by a mutual friend. They have been together ever since. Klara’s style is the most perfect example of ‘less-is-more’! She wore a wedding dress by Stephanie Allin, an A.B.Ellie veil embellished with pearls, both purchased at The One, along with earrings from One Dame Lane and oh-so-fabulous gold sandals by Loeffler Randall. Phil looked so handsome in his black tuxedo from Aston Formal wear.
The wedding was planned to be a timeless and classic affair. They opted to go with a black tie theme where Klara asked each of her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses so that they would feel comfortable. They all looked absolutely gorgeous!
Wedding Ceremony at Dublin City Hall
Having chosen City Hall to host their wedding ceremony they decided to keep the décor minimal in order to emphasise the beauty of the space. City Hall is such an iconic building, the architecture and history is unmatched. We won’t get tired of saying that this is one of the most beautiful locations for Dublin City Weddings.
Hazel Conway was in charge of the ceremony music and brought lots of guests to tears when she started singing ‘To make you feel my love’ by Adele.
After the ceremony the guests made their way to The Shelbourne Hotel while the couple took some portraits in St. Stephen’s Green Park, the same location Klara’s parents did their wedding photos.
The Shelbourne Hotel Wedding Reception
Klara and Phil had no doubt The Shelbourne Hotel was the right choice for their wedding reception. It’s another historic Dublin Institution and the staff was amazing to deal with from the start. The Shelbourne’s florist provided all the beautiful blooms that decorated both venues and the cake by Camerino Bakery. We loved the napkins embroidered with their wedding date for guests to take home. Such a classy favour!
Dinner was served in the Constitution Room and the service was just second to none. The couple says everything felt so surreal. The idea of being able to regularly visit the Shelbourne in their future as a married couple also played a big role when choosing their wedding venue.

“The most important thing about our wedding was spending the day with each other side by side. We didn’t want to look back on the day and realise that we had spent the day apart. We also wanted our wedding photography to be really natural and not spend lots of time posing for photos and Emmylie & Richie were amazing with this!”
