Virginia Park Lodge Wedding

Ashling & David’s black tie Virginia Park Lodge Wedding was nothing short of amazing. Not only did the couple choose one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Cavan but they are so stylish too! We were so excited for their wedding and when you see their wedding photos and films it’s easy to understand why!

The couple first met at a friend’s party and chatted for a while but it was only 18 months later they went on a date. Unfortunately the timing wasn’t right and they went their separate ways. However, after a casual sighting a year later, they started texting and went on another date and have been inseparable ever since.

David looked so handsome in his velvet burgundy jacket and Ashling’s Jesus Piero dress was absolutely stunning! Her wedding shoes gave us all Cinderela vibes and her Hollywood waves hair completed her bridal look.

About the Venue

If you ever been to Virginia Park Lodge you know exactly how amazing this venue and location is. This historic house is set in the Cavan countryside and overlooks Lough Ramor. The gardens are gorgeous and the marquee is beautifully decorated already, so you don’t need much to make it even more special for your wedding. If you decide to have your wedding at Virginia Park Lodge, the house will be exclusively yours to enjoy with your family and friends.

The main house has 23 en-suite bedrooms and can host up to 47 guests. They also have a courtyard with 15 cottages that can accommodate up to 6 guests in each and they also have another 12 huts for 2 guests each.

They are licensed to hold civil ceremonies and partnerships and you can choose to have an outdoors ceremony overlooking the lake, in the walled or parterre gardens or an indoors ceremony, all exquisite options! The venue offers an amazing choice of backgrounds for your wedding photos and films. You will be spoiled for choice!

Virginia Park lodge is widely recognised for their amazing food by Michelin star chef Richard Corrigan, which is second to none and another major reason why couples choose it as their wedding venue.

Virginia Park Lodge Wedding Ceremony

Ashling & David got married in a crispy November afternoon and to make all their guests comfortable they had an indoors ceremony. The amazing Connie Keogh was their celebrant and she made the ceremony so memorable not only for the couple but for everyone who attended. We could see everyone smiling from ear to ear listening to the couple’s love story beautifully told by Connie.

The couple also had carefully selected readings and they also wrote love letters for each other and placed them inside a box with wine to be opened at their anniversary – such a sweet touch!

Drinks Reception and Dinner at Virginia Park Lodge

After the ceremony all the guests enjoyed the drinks reception in the main house before making their way for dinner in the glass walled marquee.

As we mentioned the marquee had gorgeous decorations already and the couple added a few more details to make it more personal – like the whisky bottle lamps and a wishing tree, wher guests could leave them a message.

Three of their friends surprised them with a song they wrote about the couple and performed at the wedding. It was another very memorable moment! They had their first dance as a married couple to Better Man by Paolo Nutini and then danced the night away with their guests.

You can see the One Fab Day feature and scroll down to see their wedding trailer, photos and film at the end of this page.
